
As Nigerians are faced with the current economic hardship in the country the Federal Government has provided another trucks of rice to the citizens of Kogi state to cushion the suffering the people are going through.
Another truck of Palliative Rice provided by the Federal Government has arrived in Lokoja, State Capital.
A statement issued by the Head of Media, Communications & ICT of Kogi State Social Investment Program Agency (KSSIPA), Dami Adenuga, said that the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Timothy Ojoma, State Coordinator of KSSIPA, Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Hon. Muktar Atima, received the first truck of rice out of the unprecedented numbers to be received from the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
The Commissioner for Agriculture commended the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for emerging as a beacon of embodying resilience and compassion to the people at a time when communities face challenges.
The State Coordinator, KSSIPA, Hajiya Aisha Oyiza Omade, mentioned that 25-50 trucks of 25kg bags of rice are expected in the next few days.
She said all measurements State taken for proper distribution across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi state as instructed and designed by the Executive Governor of Kogi state governor Ahmed Usman Ododo who has provided adequate security to protect the palliative.
As of the time of his report on Friday, 5th April, 2024, the Confluence State has received a Truck 25kg bags of rice containing 1,200 bags as more are expected in no distance time.
