Student Leaders of Prince Abubakar Audu University Holds Congress, Passes Vote of Confidence in Vice Chancellor, Prof. Marietu Ohunene Tenuche

The Students Congress of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) has passed a vote of confidence in Prof. Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, the Vice Chancellor of the institution.
In a press statement delivered by Comrade Agbo Emmanuel Shaibu, President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), after a Constitutional review Congress, Prof. Tenuche was commended for her exemplary leadership and contributions to the institution.

Prof. Tenuche’s extensive experience in various key positions within the university management has been instrumental since she was appointed Vice-Chancellor.
According to the SUG President, the VC’s tenure is marked by the implementation of three core goals: Security, Work Ethics, and Welfare, which have collectively improved the university’s environment and reputation. He stated, “Prof. Tenuche’s strategic vision and dedication have transformed our university into a beacon of academic excellence and safety.”

Recognizing the critical importance of a secure learning environment, Prof. Tenuche has effectively reduced insecurity and social vices, such as cultism, to a minimum. Comrade Shaibu emphasized, “Her efforts in enhancing campus security have not only made us feel safer but have also created a more conducive environment for academic pursuits.”

Prof. Tenuche has tirelessly worked to secure full accreditation status for all courses offered at the university. This achievement, validated by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other relevant authorities, reflects her commitment to academic excellence. Comrade Shaibu highlighted that “the full accreditation of our courses under her leadership is a testament to her relentless pursuit of academic quality and standards.”

Under Prof. Tenuche’s leadership, the university has maintained an uninterrupted academic calendar. Additionally, the construction of perimeter fencing around the campus has further enhanced security and infrastructure. “Her infrastructural developments such as construction and reconstruction of roads on campus, construction of state of the art sporting facilities, free access to the internet, perimeter fencing, among others, have significantly improved the safety and aesthetics of our campus,” noted Comrade Shaibu.

The Students Congress also acknowledged Prof. Tenuche’s efforts in upholding the highest standards of academic excellence. The quality of graduates from PAAU under her leadership is exemplary, with students achieving stellar results in both internal and external examinations.

Notably, in the past six years, seven PAAU Law graduates have earned First Class Honours in their bar final exams at Law School. “Our graduates’ success in various fields, particularly the impressive results from our law graduates, underscores the high standards set by Prof. Tenuche,” added Comrade Shaibu.

The Associations present at this press briefing included the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), Igala Students Association (ISA) National Association of Ebira Students (NAES) National Association of Okun Students (NAOS), the Forum of Department Presidents and several others.

Having carefully appraised Prof. Tenuche’s performance, the Students Congress unanimously resolved to express their full confidence in her continued leadership. Comrade Shaibu concluded, “We stand firmly behind Prof. Tenuche, confident in her vision and leadership to take our university to even greater heights.”
