The All Progressives Congress Governorship flagbearer, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo will take sports development to another level if elected.

The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources Engr Bashiru Gegu said this at the grand finale of the Ododo eighth Aside football victory competition held at the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo.

Engr. Bashiru who made the disclosure shortly after presenting the cup to Newlayout FC, winners of the tournament, described Alhaji Ododo as a youth developer, with passion for sports, described his blueprint for sports development as wholistic.

The runner up for the competition was Oikwo FC while the FMC FC finished as the second runner up in a tournament that featured seventeen football teams.

The Commissioner who represented Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo described sports as a money spinner, assured that his administration if elected will turnaround sports in the State.

Engr. Bashiru appreciated the organizers of the tournament, promising that aside the deliberate efforts to improve on sporting infrastructure if elected, sports men and women will enjoy scholarships amongst other incentives.

The final match played between Newlayout FC and Oikwo FC ended 4-2 in favour of the winners of the tournament.
