Governor Yahaya Bello expressed confidence that the party would win overwhelmingly in the November 11 governorship election in the state.

Governor Yahaya Bello gave the charge at the APC Critical Stakeholders meeting that was held on Thursday 12th October in Government House, Lokoja.

Governor Bello applauded the party stakeholders, mobilizers, and campaign committee for the massive turnout of members during the flag-off of the campaign on Sunday 8 October

The governor enjoined all stakeholders, members, and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to go back to their grassroots, wards, and localities to work to deliver more supporters for the party’s victory.

“All Polling Units, Wards, down to Local Government levels’ Chairmen should hold their campaign rallies. There is no need to move from one ward, or local government area to another to campaign. Let Kogites and Nigerians know that APC is fully on the ground in the state” Gov. Bello said.

“The Constituencies Campaign has been canceled, but shall now settle for the Districts Campaign only. The Campaign shall commence from Kogi West Senatorial District on Saturday, 14th October 2023, while the Eastern District and Central follow accordingly, then The grand finale to wrap up the Campaign shall take place at Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja on the 8th November 2023” The Gov. added.

Governor Yahaya Bello called for unity among Kogites and urged Kogi citizens to shun ethnic agenda

He stressed that he would not allow undesired elements to divide the people.

Bello said that former governors were not elected on an ethnic Agenda and he was not elected based on ethnic agenda either.

Governor Bello cautioned the electorate to avoid sentiment and religious bigotry saying the kogi agenda is for every kogite and youths should not engage in violence during and after the election.

Governor Bello therefore, appealed to APC supporters not to perpetrate violence as well as not to encourage violence.

Prince Shuaibu Audu, the Director General, of the Campaign Council said that the east senatorial districts held a meeting and they have resolved to work assiduously for the party’s victory so that they can deliver the dividend of democracy both at the state and federal level through the administration of President Bola Tinubu on the renewed hope

In his goodwill message, deputy Governor Edward David Onoja urged the stakeholders to go back to their ward to embark on an issue base campaign which he said would translate to the victory of Usman Dodo and Joel Oyibo in the November 11, 2023, while the speaker of the Kogi State Assembly Aliu Umar Yusuf assured that the party would win awesomely.

Dr Halima Alfa lauded the giant strides of Governor Bello and his leadership style. According to her, there is no Igala agenda but a Kogi agenda.

Present at the meeting at decamped members of the opposition parties. They promised to deliver.

The representatives of the three senatorial districts who spoke also assured victory for the party candidate, Usman Ododo, and his running mate, Joel Oyibo
