Kogi PDP in distress as Gov. Bello receives Ankpa decampees into APC

Kogi state November 11 Governorship election, the state Governor, Yahaya Bello on Friday received decampees formerly the People’s Democratic Party, from Ankpa Local Government Area who decided alongside their supporters to join the All Progressives Congress and collapse their structures into the ruling APC in Kogi State.

Governor Bello while receiving the new progressive assured them that they would be treated tendered and given equal privileges just like founding party members adding that the APC Kogi state is a party that does not discriminate.

While he appreciated the delegation for their resilience, dedication, and resolute to identify with the All Progressives Congress, the governor said that the ruling All Progressives Congress was a party to be and the new members were fully welcome to be part of the renewed Kogi which his government is building.

The governor commended the Former Deputy Speaker, Hon. Rabiu Alfa for his loyalty and dedication, while he also lauded the chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu for the good work being done reiterating to the new members that the APC does not discriminate on the premise of religion, ethnic, class or any divisive factors.

Gov. Bello affirmed that the November 11 election will be free, fair, and peaceful, assuring that his government would ensure that the process was violence free to ensure that the people of Kogi state cast their votes as anyone intending to destabilize the state would be taken care of by security operatives.

Mentioning some of the achievements of his administration in Ankpa Local Government, he promised that more shall be done. He urged the decampees to enlist more of their supporters and advocate others at the grassroots to join the APC, as there is room for everyone to benefit from the dividends of good governance

The leader of the delegation Hon. Abraham Usman, who was a strong stakeholder in the People’s Democratic Party said they made the decision and are convinced to join the ruling party because, they identified Governor Bello’s leadership acumen and political trajectory, which reflects his firmness to always do the right thing.

He noted that members of the group are high-ranking leaders of PDP in Ankpa Local Government Area and were now willing to work for the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The Party Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello who earlier received the decampees before handing them over to the governor said they were strong grassroots stakeholders from Ankpa Local Government who have been harvested by party stakeholders from the Local Government, led by the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Rabiu Alfa.

He maintained that the new party members were willing to join the party, work and add value towards the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections.
