Kogi NUJ Holds Press Week

This year’s edition of Press Week of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ Kogi chapter, begins on Friday the 11th of August, with a jumaat prayer.

Adeiza said that the Jumaat prayer will be followed by a Christian prayer on Sunday, the 12th of August.

The Kogi State Chairman of the NUJ, Adeiza Momohjimoh made this known at a press briefing in Lokoja. the state capital

he noted that Monday the 14th of August is set aside for a road walk for members of the Union to exercise and keep fit for healthy living

The Nuj Chairman said that the grand finale of the press Week comes up on Wednesday, the 16th of August with a public presentation of a book with a theme: Media Development In Kogi State (1991-2023).

The book, he stressed is essentially put together to give an overview account of how the media industry has fared in Kogi State since its creation.

He added that the book with 324 pages will be mostly useful for Communications with Students in tertiary institutions as well as useful to Journalists, media researchers, and the public interest,

Notable Kogi citizens who have impacted positively in their various communities and people have also been selected by the Council for the Union awards.

The awardees are The Olu Ade of Ekinrin-Adde, HRM. Olu Anthony Bamgbaiye, CON, and renowned Chartered Account, the member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem and Ahmed Omeiza Abdullahi, OON, a retired Director, State Security Services.

Others are: Engineer Isezuo Edward Jatto, a renowned Broadcast Engineer and MD/CEO of Jatto FM, Okene, Doctor Arome Salifu Chief Executive Officer, of Africa Youth Growth Foundation, and Engineer Idah Daikwo of the Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja.

The State Governor, Governor Yahaya Bello is expected as the distinguished guest of honor, while the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Associate Professor Usman Ogbo is the chairman of the occasion.

The Chief Host of the program is the National President of NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo while the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo is a co-host.

The venue of the grand finale is Edge Drive Hotel on Wednesday the 16th of August 2023.
