Feb 25 Polls: Opposition Accuse APC of Importing Thugs, Arms in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Fed Constituency

The opposition party in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency of planning to unleash mayhem on people before, during and after Saturday general elections.

In a statement issued in Kabba by the spokesman of PDP Youth Ambassadors, Oladele Isaac, the party said it had it on good authority that APC had already imported thugs and arms to harass, maim and possibly kill opposition leaders and supporters.

According to Oladele, top members of APC in the federal constituency are part of the grand plot to Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu into killing field during the February 25 elections.

He specifically mentioned Femi Owoyemi, aka Femi Omoga, Ismail Adesayo, Richard Osaseyi, Femi Esemikose, Olorunmola Lee, Christopher Barinkin, Taofiq Isah, Babatunde Paul aka Afobaje, Tajudeen Raji, Monday Osateye and Bola Oshe as those coordinating the armed thugs.

“They met in Grand Hotel, Kabba on Saturday to perfect plans to unleash violence on members of our party. The House of Representatives candidate of the party and other big wigs in APC are in the know.

“They have resorted to the use of violence to avoid imminent defeat at the polls n Saturday.

“While we believe the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency are ready to confront them, we call on authorities to wade in now to avoid ugly scenes before, during and after the elections,” he said. 

He called on security agencies to beam its searchlights on the federal constituency and swing into action immediately to arrest the situation before it snowballs into large scale arson.

Recall that PDP members were attacked in Emewe, Dekina local government area of the state last week by suspected APC thugs. In Emewe, guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons were freely used against opposition members.
