Advocacy for Women with disabilities Initiative (AWWDI) loud a step in the right direction of Nigerian President, Tinubu for Signing the African Union Protocol To Guarantee the Rights Of Persons With Disabilities.
The African Disability Protocol was adopted in 2018 by the African Union, to address forms of discrimination affecting people with disabilities living in African countries.
AWWDI sees this as an affirmation of the promises made during the campaign by President Tinubu to give more attention to issues affecting persons with disabilities in Nigeria.
AWWDI looks forward to the full implementation of the AU disability protocol in Nigeria and most importantly the community of women and girls with disabilities.
Signed,
Bilikisu Yakubu (National coordinator) 19/10/2023
